Sosoro Museum

During my tenure in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I had the unique opportunity to work in the development of the Preah Srey Içanavarman Museum, more widely known as SOSORO. This project was the result of a long-standing partnership with the National Bank of Cambodia. Our objective was to create a museum that seamlessly integrates Cambodia’s rich historical narrative with its economic evolution.

  • From the outset, our vision was to craft a space that would engage and educate visitors through a blend of traditional and modern elements. We began with the foundational aspects of the project, including the naming and brand identity. SOSORO was conceived to resonate with both local and international audiences, reflecting the cultural heritage and economic progress of the Kingdom.

The design phase involved meticulous attention to detail. We developed comprehensive scenography that guided the narrative flow of the museum, ensuring that each exhibit told a cohesive and compelling story. Interactive displays were a cornerstone of our design strategy, aimed at making history accessible and engaging. These displays employed cutting-edge technology to create immersive experiences, allowing visitors to interact with historical data and artifacts in innovative ways.

Interior design played a crucial role in bringing our vision to life. We incorporated elements that were both aesthetically pleasing and functional, creating a welcoming environment that enhanced the overall visitor experience. The use of local materials and traditional design motifs paid homage to Cambodia’s cultural heritage, while modern touches underscored the country’s progress and future aspirations.
